Here at Porfell, we have many wonderful animals that aid us in our educational talks for our visitors. We have Polecats, Giant leopard tortoises, a Royal python, several different species of owls and creepy crawlies. With our special events we have special surprise animals to enthral visitors. There are chances for visitors to actually touch them and have a rare chance to learn much more about these wonderful creatures with whom we share this planet. Not all talks will feature the same animals.

It's a hit!
We are pleased to say that our introductory special encounter with the lemurs in September 2010 was such a hit with our visitors that we are going to proceed with it into 2011. We look forward to sharing our wonderful lemurs company with the general public and this can be arrange via booking in advance.

New Arrivals
On the 6th September, we welcomed some new additions to the park. If you visit Lemur-land, you can now see Mara (large relatives of guinea pigs and look a little like small deer) in one of our enclosures. We are also anticipating the arrival of a troop of Marmosets in the next month and we will report when they arrive.

Maasai success!
The recent addition of the African plains and Maasai village at Porfell is a great success bringing many more visitors to the park. This is an adventure into Africa where visitors can experience life in a Maasai village surrounded by and co-existing with wildlife. It brings a new concept to seeing wild animals.
The Peacock Tea RoomSit and enjoy some refreshments in the pleasant, cosy atmosphere of this attractive old barn.
Wander through the woods and discover the wide variety of trees and plants. These natural old woods have fine examples of wetland coppice with willow and alder whilst the dry areas support ash, oak and beech. Specially built board walks take you though the marsh areas.
